Dave Abrahams
I’m a multi-instrumentalist, singer, and songwriter specializing in Hawaiian slack key guitar (ki hōʻalu). In 2003, after decades playing rock, jazz, and bluegrass, I was introduced to the rich tapestry of Hawaiian music and it captured my heart. I’ve studied under some of the great Slack Key masters, including Keola Beamer, Ledward Ka’apana, George Kahumoku, Jr., Sonny Lim, and Jeff Peterson. Besides performing solo, Dave supplies the slack key element in Ka La’i O Mele, a popular Hawaiian group, and frequently joins George Kahumoku Jr onstage at shows in the Bay Area.
